![]() Carrie’s personal healing journey began with an exploration in the teachings of yoga, meditation, and movement. The liberation experienced through movement and meditation sparked an internal flame that became the catalyst to accomplish three, 200 hr Yoga teacher trainings focused on asana, anatomy, meditation, and pranayama (breath-work). The journey began in Atlanta at Peachtree Yoga Center, led by Graham Fowler. It was through Graham’s teachings she learned japa meditation; a meditation that uses a tool or mantra to transform the inner-landscape of the mind. Asana practice was rich and full of breath, with longer held postures that opened deeper layers of fascia (connective tissue); unlocking years of stagnant energy. Carrie discovered more of her path after a move to Denver. She studied Atma or Soul Yoga with Katrina Gustafson and Saul David Raye at Karma Yoga Center. This practice provided a juicy depth into more of the subtle realms by working with movement, breath, and the Sacred Feminine. The movements were slow, deep, profound, earthy, activating, and enriched by the breath. Absorbing the wisdom of Saul, Katrina, and other mentors during this program highlighted new areas and passions for exploration and discovery which led to Pacifica Graduate Institute where Carrie began a Masters in Depth Psychology; studying counseling, mythology, and psychological transformation. Carrie found a great love and passion for Marion Woodman’s work on the psychological transformation of the feminine and how core wounding from early childhood may keep feminine energy repressed and stuck in unhealthy or toxic patterns with the wounded masculine. Pacifica was life changing, and although Carrie decided to put the degree on-hold, the depth and wisdom gained there ushered in the next leg of her journey with passion and clarity. Carrie began diving into energy healing practices, somatic healing, and somatic bodywork. Through movement, focused energy, feeling, and sound - Carrie found a potent tool for liberating and alchemizing unresolved trauma stored in her physical body. The divine dance between the energetic and physical body primes the cells to receive new life force. It is this same dance, Carrie is inspired to share with others. As an energy alchemist and self-healer, it is her mission to hold this space for others. Each spiritual and healing journey is sacred, personal, and complex. To embark on a personal healing journey is courageous; the path is a beautifully woven tapestry full of unearthing hidden treasures, liberation, and shadow integration to reveal the beautiful light of truth, you. “…the wound is the place where the light enters you.” - Rumi Carrie offers Yin Yoga, spiritual coaching, non-licensed counseling, and energetic bodywork with a focus in alchemizing emotional energy through-out the physical body. Carrie’s teachings whether in a yoga class, coaching, or bodywork session explores the depths of liberating and resolving emotional energy in the body through energy alchemy and self-healing. Why do I teach yoga? - It is my mission to hold a space for others to self-heal. For me, the journey has been about self-healing and awakening my inner-teacher. And through this awakening, applying all that I’ve learned. Teaching is part of why I’m here and when I’m not teaching, I’m growing so that I can begin teaching again. It is part of who I am.
