Ever since Maura was a little girl she knew her life’s purpose was to assist others in their healing journey. When she was 23, she completed her 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher training. Yoga opened the door for a passion to be a lifelong student of body, mind and spirit connection.
Maura completed her massage education at Cortiva Institute where she developed a solid foundation in many skills and modalities. She prefers to blend deep tissue, trigger point, sports massage and injury techniques, combined with reiki, and other deep energetic healing modalities to create a one of a kind, experiential session. Maura truly believes that to heal the body physically, you must also heal from within. She continues to add more techniques to her tool box and works to mature her practice with the body. Maura provides massage and healing sessions and teaches Reiki Fusion Nidra on Sunday evenings.
What do you love about yoga/breath/meditation?
I love the mind, body connection yoga brings. When we are connected to breath, we drop into the present moment and when we are in this space we are in our truth.
Why did you decide to start teaching?
It's no secret, in our society, we are constantly overstimulated. As a result, It's common to experience anxiety, depression and/ or irritability. When we allow ourselves 60 minutes of stillness, we are able to connect out of our heads and into our hearts, and that's where the true magic appears.
How has yoga impacted your healing journey?
When I found yoga I was lost. I knew there had to be more to life beyond my 3d perception, with little experience with yoga I decided to dive into a 200 hour hatha yoga teacher training. From then on, I became a forever student. Yoga has dramatically changed my life for the better, freeing me from feeling like a prisoner in my own body and for that I am a devoted bhakti yogi.
