Meet Megan Conner, Yoga Nidra Fusion and Restorative Yoga Instructor

Megan knew teaching yoga was a calling after she fell in love with the practice when she was 17. Travelling to India for traditional yoga study in 2012 awakened a light inside of her that she now shares through her teachings through Reiki, Vinyasa, Tantra, Restorative, Yin, and Yoga Nidra. Her intention is to help her students find their inner bliss through classes focusing on deep relaxation, pranayama, chakra balancing, and meditation. Labeled a Peaceful Warrior, Megan believes world peace is possible, beginning inside each one of us. Megan currently teaches Yoga Nidra Fusion on Thursdays at 7pm.

​What do you love about yoga?

Yoga, breath, and meditation bring us to the present moment, nurturing all levels of the body, mind and spirit. When we are present, we are able to respond rather than react to our environment. We are able to find joy in life and love for ourselves and the people around us. We are able  to find acceptance and peace. I love practices such as Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga, which activate the parasympathetic nervous system- our nervous system that allows us to rest, restore, to find peace and joy. These healing practices create balance within us, even when the world around us feels tumultuous. They allow us to find a deep meditative state, guiding us to our inner bliss.

Why did you decide to start teaching?
I started teaching yoga because I was floored by how effective it is at transforming our life experience. I experienced a lot of trauma growing up, and yoga helped me feel love for myself and for life for the first time since a very young age. It reignited my inner fire! I didn't know it was possible to feel so peaceful and happy! I want everyone who comes to my class to experience this. We are beings of light, we just have to be guided to find it sometimes.

How has yoga helped you on your healing journey?
Suffering is caused by separation, by the false sense that we are divided from parts of ourselves, or from each other. Yoga translates to Union. It is the union of body, mind, and soul. It is the realization that we are one with everyone and everything. This reality has allowed me to find peace, joy, acceptance, and self-love. It has transformed my life and made me the healer I am today! Yoga and healing is my dharma, my purpose, my passion, and I can't wait to share it with you!
