Out of the Shadow of Shame: From Self-Criticism to Self-Compassion
A Workshop with Nate Ewert and Jamie Ramge

November 8, 2025 | 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM The Loft at People House | $85
Shame is heavy. It sits in your chest, whispers in your ear, and keeps you from showing up as yourself.
Maybe you know exactly what we're talking about, or recognize it but didn’t know its name. The voice that says you're not good enough, too much, or fundamentally flawed. The parts of yourself you've learned to hide because they feel unsafe to share.
This workshop isn't about bypassing that reality or pretending shame away. It's about finally turning toward it with curiosity instead of judgment.
Jamie Ramge (mental health counselor) and Nate Ewert (coach, breathwork facilitator) will guide you through four hours of honest exploration using discussion, breathwork, and reflective processes. We'll look at where shame comes from, how it's tried to protect you, and what it might look like to relate to yourself differently.
What We'll Do:
  • Examine shame's grip through guided discussion and activities
  • Use breathwork to help your nervous system process what's been held
  • Explore the parts of yourself that have been in hiding
  • Practice speaking what's true, even when it's uncomfortable
  • Create space for integration and being witnessed by others
What You Can Expect:
  • A safe container for difficult emotions and honest conversation
  • Tools you can actually use for ongoing self-compassion
  • The relief that comes from not having to hide
  • Connection with others who understand this struggle
This work isn't easy, but it's real. And you don't have to do it alone.

Note: This workshop involves emotional processing and breathwork. Please reach out if you have questions about medical considerations. We will be meeting in a loft space which requires going up 2 flights of stairs

Nate Ewert, LMT, Breathwork Facilitator, ICF Coach, Owner of Somatic Synergies
Nate began his healing career in 2000 after attending massage school in Denver. Initially working in an auto accident and work comp injury facility, he dedicated the first five years to hands-on practice before transitioning into teaching massage and developing curriculum for the massage program at the school where he taught. After becoming Director of Education, he soon after went through a dark night of the soul forcing him to redefine his values, find meaning and relearn all of the things that makes him a man.
After leaving his job at the college in 2011, Nate has dedicated his life to finding ways to heal his traumas and deepen his understanding of what it means to be not only a good man, but a good human. Through his own healing journey he has been certified and mentored in many coaching and facilitative modalities for healing, awakening and embracing our true essences. This includes shadow work, mindfullness, shamanic ceremonial space, somatic and trauma release techniques and conscious breathwork.
Nate offers group classes, coaching, retreats and workshops. His men's coaching programs emphasize helping men find balance in their lives and achieve strong, healthy expressions of masculinity so they can show up in the best possible way for every aspect of their lives, being an invitation for everyone around them to show up too. He creates a sacred and safe container for people to process emotions, pains, and traumas, enabling them to redefine their choices and meanings in how they present themselves and relate to others.  Nate is a father, a husband, a business owner, and trying to be the best human he can while helping those that are ready to live in a different, more expressive way.
